Unpack tar file in e.g /tmp/patch on the Open iT server. Do the 
following as root:

  cd /tmp/patch
  ./patch.pl

This patch installes the new web GUI that is default shipped with the 5.3 release.
The new GUI will work in parallel to the old Java interface.
